Big Search
Big Search
Big Search is the ever-present alter ego of Matt Popieluch as he continues to make his way through Californian life, channeling the cross-currents of romance, upheaval, and casual adventure. Centered around the 12 string guitar, vocal harmony and synthesizers, Big Search music inspires floating escapism to a subconscious realm where Harry Nilsson is singing over Jade Warrior in a weed soaked bubble bath.

After over a decade of making music in the band Foreign Born and assisting in bands Papercuts, Fools Gold, Glasser, Luke Top, Cass McCombs, Taken By Trees and Sky Ferreira, Big Search has released 2 to 3 albums depending on your count, including 2016's Life Dollars on Danger Mouse's label 30th Century Records. Last year Big Search lent his voice to a Charlie Feather's cover on the Resistance Radio compilation that also featured Angel Olson, Kevin Morby, Beck, and Sharon Van Etten among others, and is currently readying the release of the new Big Search album, due out in this spring.
Luke Top
Luke Top
Luke Top was born in Tel Aviv, Israel and was raised in Los Angeles, CA. He has spent the last two decades recording and performing music. A majority of that time (2008-2015), was spent as the lead singer of Fool’s Gold, a band that has enjoyed international acclaim for their cathartic live shows and seductive experiments in global psychedelia. When Fool’s Gold disbanded, Luke shifted gears musically, going solo with the release of his full length album “Suspect Highs” in 2016. SPIN magazine called the album “a deeply earnest and deeply honest confessional.” Shortly after the release of “Suspect Highs”, Luke partnered with longtime friend, Jason Quever of Papercuts, to open a recording studio in the Arts District of Downtown Los Angeles. It was in this space that Luke found the freedom to explore a variety of bold new musical tangents, further refining his unique brand of songwriting and producing. The resulting body of work is collected in a new 5 song EP entitled “The Dumb-Show” to be released digitally and on vinyl by Grand Gallop and Org Music on 10/19/18. The first two singles (“I’ve Been Workin” and “I May Never Leave”) were releasing digitally this summer. It features guest musicians Kyle Crane on drums (Daniel Lanois/Neko Case) and Seth Ford-Young (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) on upright bass.
