PARIS SYNDROME: EAST MEETS WEST EDITION

French vs. Japanese dance night Paris Syndrome returns for a special evening of European and Asian new wave, cold wave, synthpop, and post-punk with DJs Rei Hertzler (Into the Ether), Olive Kimoto (Heaven or Los Angeles), and Amanda Siegel (NTS' Crossed Wires).

The evening will be kicked off with a screening of Hiroshima Mon Amour, a 1959 French Left Bank drama film directed by Alain Resnais and written by Marguerite Duras with co-producers from France and Japan. Set against the backdrop of post-war Hiroshima, the film centers around a conversation between two lovers, a Japanese architect (Eiji Okada) and a French actress (Emmanuelle Riva), as they weave reflections and memories of past experiences into a mesmerizing non-linear narrative.
