Jesse Boykins III
Jesse Boykins III
Jesse Boykins III is making himself whole. Through four independent albums -Dopamine, The Beauty Created, Zulu Guru, and Love Apparatus that are beloved by his cult following around the world. He’s mined past experiences to make songs that chronicle a man and his psyche navigating through the world—building a reputation of charm through candor. Jesse’s gifts have brought him to perform on stages in countries like Germany, France, the UK, Italy, South Africa, Japan, all around the US and more. Now entering a new phase of his life, Jesse’s latest album Bartholomew finds him using his many art mediums to become his best self.

Born in Chicago, Boykins spent the early years of his childhood in Jamaica prior to later settling with his mother in Miami. His focused involvement with the choir from elementary through high school proved to be a springboard, one that led him to being picked as a member of the Grammy Jazz Ensemble his senior year. Later, at New York's New School University, he developed not only his vocal performance skills but songwriting, arranging, and production skills as well. Engineering and learning guitar were two things he added to the arsenal and still continues to strengthen. In addition, befriending many students at Parsons School Of Design later inspired Jesse to educate himself as well as create in art expression, film, style, and design.

He unknowingly took on the roles as creative director, music video producer and director in the early stages of his career through necessity but soon realized it fed the burning desires he has inside to create worlds through art. With his latest release Bartholomew, Jesse directs 17 visual components in 12 hours that prove the rawness of the moment and trigger senses in the human that inspire genuine interaction. He also has written a sci-fi romantic comedy short film script he will star in that builds on the palate of sustaining longevity between evolving personalities and people in love through honesty. His passion for good aesthetic in combination with high quality substance started getting attention from his peers, which soon had him collaborating with artists like Logic, Willow Smith, Dej Loaf, The Internet, MeLo-X, Machine Drum, Vic Mensa, TOKiMONSTA, Mac Miller and more.
